Synthetic fragment of Thymosin Beta-4, an actin-regulating protein occurring naturally in almost all human tissues. Studied for its role in tissue regeneration, cell migration and angiogenesis.
TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, a protein found naturally in almost all human cells and in wound fluid. The fragment covers the active region the literature refers to as the actin-binding sequence.
In searches and on supplier listings the same fragment appears as TB500, TB 500 and — incorrectly but commonly — T-500. All refer to the thymosin beta-4 fragment.
Thymosin beta-4 is one of the principal actin-binding proteins in the cell. Actin is the structural protein that determines cell shape and cell migration, and it is that migration which connects research on this molecule to tissue repair: cells moving toward a damaged area do so by rearranging their actin skeleton.
Published work spans cell culture, animal models and a small number of early clinical studies. TB-500 itself holds no marketing authorisation anywhere and has been on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list since 2011.
We supply it as a lyophilised powder, solely as laboratory material for in-vitro research.
The areas below recur in the published literature on this peptide. They are directions of research, not applications — no statement is made about efficacy or suitability for any use.
TB-500 is only as useful as research material as the documentation that comes with it. This is what we record per batch:
Lyophilised and unopened, the peptide is kept cool, dry and dark. Brief exposure to room temperature in transit is normal for the powder, and is precisely why it ships in this form.
The literature generally uses bacteriostatic water for reconstitution. Once reconstituted the solution has a limited shelf life and belongs in refrigerated storage. Exact conditions vary by protocol; we prescribe none.
The publications below are the primary literature on this molecule. They are listed as a pointer to published research and are not a claim about this product.
