What is GHK-Cu? Mechanism of action

GHK-Cu is a tripeptide — glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine — bound to a copper ion. The sequence occurs naturally in human plasma, and the measured concentration declines with age, which largely explains the interest in the molecule within ageing research.

The copper binding is not incidental; it is the core of the molecule. Copper is a cofactor for enzymes involved in building collagen and elastin, and in the literature GHK functions mainly as a carrier that makes copper available to cells in a controlled way. Research focuses on tissue remodelling and on gene expression in skin cells.

GHK-Cu is used in cosmetic formulations and in that context is not a medicine. We supply it as research material for laboratory and formulation work — not as a finished cosmetic product and not for application to skin.

The peptide is copper-blue. That is the colour of the bound copper ion and a normal characteristic of the material, not a contaminant.

Buying GHK-Cu for research

GHK-Cu is only as useful as research material as the documentation that comes with it. This is what we record per batch:

  • Every batch is analysed by HPLC. The purity figure and its lot number appear on this page and on the label.
  • The lot number on the vial matches the certificate of analysis, so the measurement traces back to the vial you receive.
  • Supplied as a lyophilised powder rather than a solution — the form that best survives transport and storage.
  • For analytical and preclinical laboratory research only. Not for human or animal consumption.

Reconstitution and storage

Lyophilised and unopened, the peptide is kept cool, dry and dark. Brief exposure to room temperature in transit is normal for the powder, and is precisely why it ships in this form.

The literature generally uses bacteriostatic water for reconstitution. Once reconstituted the solution has a limited shelf life and belongs in refrigerated storage. Exact conditions vary by protocol; we prescribe none.

Frequently asked questions

What does GHK-Cu cost?
GHK-Cu comes in several strengths, from € 34,95 for 50 mg to € 49,95 for 100 mg. Pick the strength at the top of this page and the price appears immediately. Ordering multiple vials applies a volume discount automatically.
Which strengths of GHK-Cu are available?
2 strengths are in stock: 50 mg, 100 mg. Larger vials cost less per milligram; the price per mg is shown with each option.
Can I order GHK-Cu in the Netherlands?
Yes. We ship from the Netherlands, discreetly and neutrally packaged, with track and trace. Within the Netherlands and Belgium delivery normally takes 1–2 working days after processing, elsewhere in the EU 2–5 working days. Payment is by iDEAL and shipping is free from €75.
Do I get a certificate of analysis with GHK-Cu?
Yes. The current lot is PL-2702 with a measured purity of ≥ 99.5% HPLC. The lot number on the vial matches the certificate of analysis, so the measurement traces back to the vial you receive.
How do I store GHK-Cu?
Unopened, GHK-Cu is kept at −20 °C, dry and dark. It ships as Lyophilised powder; in that form it withstands transport. Once reconstituted the solution has a limited shelf life and belongs in refrigerated storage.
What is GHK-Cu intended for?
In-vitro laboratory research only. GHK-Cu is not intended for human or animal consumption, not for diagnostic use, and not for any therapeutic application. We provide no dosing and no administration guidance.
